Solar panels generate most electricity during daylight hours. Any electrical appliances you use during the day, such as your TV or washing machine, will use this electricity to run. However, if the solar panels product more electricity than your appliances use, then this extra electricity goes to the electricity grid. With a battery storage system, […]

Support & Funding
Financial support to boost your home energy efficiency

The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) is part of an on-going government initiative to support lower income households to live in more energy efficient homes, saving money on their fuel bills and ensuring they live in warm and healthy homes. The Energy Company Obligation is now in its fourth round (ECO4) and a percentage of ECO4 funding has been allocated to improving social housing properties. At Union Technical we have direct access to funding from the utility companies we partner and contract with. This means we have funding available now for you to access to improve your housing stock. There is no application process for you or your tenants to go through. The funding comes from major energy suppliers such as Scottish Power, British Gas, Eon, Octopus, EDF and others who are obligated to provide funding to improve the energy efficiency of homes. However, tenants do not have to use these companies as their energy supplier because of the obligation placed on the major energy suppliers.
